Individual and Couples Therapy

Individual Therapy

In order to meet the specific and diverse needs of my clients, I use a client-centered approach to therapy, focusing on the normalization of human reactions and experiences. Life is suffering and life is beautiful, and I find that in order to cope it is helpful to remember that there is room for both. In order to truly meet the needs of my clients, I believe it is important to integrate a variety of treatment methods into my practice. I find that some clients respond to a more reflective therapy that focuses on processing emotions, and others prefer a more directive and problem-solving approach to the challenges of daily life. With the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship, I work together with my clients to provide a space that feels supportive, individualized, and one that will lead to healing and growth.

Couples Therapy

Vulnerability leads to growth. Sharing moments of loss, shame, joy, and disappointment can lead to stronger self-acceptance and connection with our loved ones. When I work with couples, I strive to remain in the present moment, to notice the emotions in the room, and to focus on how these emotions can influence how a couple interacts with one another. In doing this, I aim to strengthen my clients’ attachments by normalizing the most basic needs of belonging and acceptance, thus opening up the therapy space to process and overcome any hurt and disconnect.
